Standards-Based Lesson Plans About WATER!
Teaching kids to be water-savvy today translates to water-wise adults for generations to come. That’s the concept behind Kid Zone, a Tri Valley area schools program sponsored by Zone 7 Water Agency that educates kids about all things water.
From learning about water quality and the importance of water conservation to discovering the liquid labyrinth beneath their feet and understanding flood protection, the program features memorable hands-on activities that make a mark on students’ understanding of our water system.
Lessons are aligned with the Next Generation Sciences Standards for K-12 content, created and taught by certified educators. Funded by Zone 7 and supported by its Board of Directors, the program invests in youth water system education and appreciation.
Students of all ages, from kindergarten through high school, learn about the vital role water plays in our community, economy and environment, teaching them to become water champions.
We invite you to explore this site for interactive activities, standards-based lesson plans, videos and other helpful resources.
